Maternal Child Health Program

This program is an outreach program for young mother and prenatal women in our community. The program promotes health living and child development among new and existing families with young children. This program is relative new in the community and restricted to new mothers. The focus of the program is child development ages 0-18 months. The program is beginning to be access more often as the promotion of the program has become more effective. The local nursing station is an integrated part of the program to identify new mothers and to ensure program is being utilized to best benefit the community

Services include but are not limited to :

  • Screening of new mothers
  • Counseling Services
  • Breast Feeding Promotion
  • Workshops and Scheduled Events
  • Child Nutrition and Child Supplements ( Baby food development and Co-op Buying)
  • Welcome Home Bags
  • Education Sessions ( Family and Individuals )
  • Program Promotion
  • The program also assist low income families with baby supplies to ensure proper child development and assist new mothers with proper information on child rearing practices that are culturally appropriate based on community resources.
