NAN Crisis Team Program

In 1997 Deer Lake began to incorporate NAN Crisis team within the Health Services Model to ensure effective crisis management at the community level. Issues such as suicide, sudden deaths, and unforeseen tragedies are the programs primary objectives. This program ensures community based values and traditions are incorporated into the program delivery.

Services provided are:

  • Victim Support
  • Long Term Support
  • Prevention Activities
  • Referrals to Outside and Band Based Programs
  • Public Education and Program Promotion
  • First Response Team
  • Program is locally supervised by the Health Director and is managed by Nishnawbee-Aski Nation (PTO).
